everything else in my tank thrives (misc leathers, brain, x-mas rock, hammerhead corals, anemones, etc. and 20+ fish) everything but my mushrooms?

any ideas?

they are located on the bottom of my tank (32") under 250 watt hqi's MH

I'd love to get some more but I'm afraid they aren't going to do well.

oh, I dose kent Strontium and Iodine every once in a while and my reading are all good with salt at .024

thanks for you help!!

They been in for 1 maybe 2 months now.

I think I'll try some more and see if they poop out on me again?

Your lights may be too intense. I have discosomas [green stripe, purple metallic and neglecta] under a 250 in a 52 gallon, but the mushrooms 'prefer' the shade of the Sea Swirl and keep moving downward. They are reproducing like crazy, however, particularly the purples, and seem to appreciate both phyto and cyclopeeze.

I don't understand mushrooms either. Everything else is doing good in my tank but mushrooms seem slightly shriveled. They don't get to much light and and not enough. Whats the deal with them?

my daughters tank grows mushrooms better than any other tank i've seen and she only has 2 and a half watts per gallon.her tank is'nt that well cared for,in fact alot of fish die in it.i think you people are melting those shrooms.dim those lights and watch those shrooms expand bigger than you've ever seen them.if you insist on putting big lights over them,do it slowly.
