Trouble Programming Gen 1 Radions

I picked up a pair of Gen 1 Radions yesterday, got them set up, downloaded the Ecosmart Live Connection Manager and jumped in to programming the lights.

I got the curve set up, with Day start time at 6 am and Night start time at 11 with slow ramp ups and ramp downs and I think I am all set to go.

I get home at 1 am and the lights are at 100%. Even though the curve looks like a traditional bell curve, and I have the lights set to 1% before 6 am and after 11 pm, anywhere I click on the graph, the lights jump to 100% for all colors.

It is almost as if I would have to go in minute by minute to set the intensities.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

anywhere I click on the curve where there isn't a point reverts to 12K at 100%.

Also, what is up this this software? Every time I try to connect I am given a failure to connect with connection manager pop-up.

It looks like they are updating the server and doing an update right now on Sunday late afternoon.

Might that by why I cannot log into ecosmart live?

It keeps telling me it is "loading devices" then times out and wants me to restart again.

If I were you(since you have G1's) I would try and download the configuration utility and use it to program your lights. It works great and you wont have to concern yourself with ESL.

It sounds as though the buttons may need to be disabled on your Radions. I would recommend following the steps below to resolve the issue:

1. Power down all Radions for 30 seconds
2. Power on All Radions
3. Connect via USB to a single Radion - If NOT using a ReefLink*
4. Open the Connection Manager - If NOT using a ReefLink*
5. Log in to EcoSmart Live using either Google Chrome or Safari as your web browser
6. Select the "Devices" tab
7. Select the "Gear" icon next to "Light 1"
8. Check the box to disable the Radion buttons
8. Repeat steps 7 & 8 for each Radion
9. Select the "Done" button to save changes
10. Once the page refreshes select the "Program Aquarium"

The issue with them coming on in the middle of the night was resolved by turning off the buttons.

My DIY bracket was too close to the buttons, or something was interfering with them.

The problem with Ecosmart live was resolved by wiping the Radions remotely and reprogramming them.

5 minutes on the phone and the lights are working as they should.
