when ever you buy something big like a washer or dryer or any home aplience, it comes with a book & on the last page theres trouble shooting, if this dont work try this, or if this happens check that, well i need some of the most comon things that happen more to the tank & live stock, i just bought a few soft corals today, so any trouble shooting advice anyone can will be good, that way if something happens & not many people are on line to reply to my ?s i can pull this post up & it will be right there i need everything from if the heater quits in the the middle of the night to what to do when your water is off. ph,amonia, & the rest any thing anyone can add even the smallest things, i wish there was a forum i could go to that i could see it & print it out, i would hang it on my tank, exampel (when is it time to take the fish out & put them in the QT tank)

In the newbie forum, I have a thread called something like "things that will save you" which has some good suggestions.
The first thing to do is to fire up your computer (if anything is working) and get to Reef Central. Around the world, someone is most always up, and can answer questions.
An emergency kit, consisting of salt, carbon, nylons, and polyfilter pads is a good thing; enough buckets; spare pump, airline and hose. Oddments of plumbing: those accumulate over the years; and joining a local reef club so you have someone to call when there's a "need more hands" problem. Read all the stuff that pops up to your left in the splash page menu: lots of good articles there. That emergency kit and a good set of test kits (Salifert is what I use) is a lifesaver.

Also, when you post, your tank description coming up with your basic equipment list and what kind of tank you are (you have that part) saves a lot of typing and is very informative to anyone trying to help you. Saves mega-time. HTH.
