Trouble with new addition

Hey guys...well I have a 90 gallon reef tank, lots of LR and hiding spots. My tank is on the taller cubish side so lets keep that in mind too, with mid level and up available for clear swimming. Okay, so my tankmates have always lived in harmony together until recently. I currently have a
Pink skunk clownfish
Scissortail dartfish
Blue assessor
Tanaka pygmy wrasse
Tomini tang
and added a Black and white chromis or bi color chromis you could say.
Question comes now. So I'v never seen any aggression towards anyone in the tank up until when I added the chromis. I added him, and for the first 2 or 3 days the tang sorta chased him around a bit...looked like he nipped the back of his fin a tad. Lets fast forward to a couple of weeks, his fins grew back fin...however I went away for 2 days on vacation and noticed my blue assessors top back fin was kinda like had a V shape tear in it? Not frayed...like a cut almost. So I have been observing the fishes behaviors for a couple of days now...the blue assessor seems to be able to eat fine and not be harassed by anyone...the only think I noticed is that the Chromis will do a little mini chase that last all of a second and the two fish go there separate ways. I will also say it looks like maybe the assessor is trying to find a new "territory" so to say. He seems to be wondering over to the pink skunk clownfish area and I'v noticed some very slight aggression with the skunk towards the assessor I had not noticed before he chromis was added...and the tang of course is no longer an issue from what I can tell...do you guys think this will get worse or is mother nature just trying to balance itself out? I also had inquired from BlueZoo Aquatics on the chromises aggression before purchase and they assured me that with the tank mates I have now that the fish is a peaceful fish and should not cause problems...however the chromis did not come in the small size they said it would and looks more on the larger side of adulthood.

The fish you mentioned are labeled semi-aggressive and IMO that is expected out of those fish. For as the Tang, that's why it is recommend to introduce those last exactly for this reason. Remember also, that Clownfish and Chromis are considered in the Damsel family. It might or might stop. IMO, I think it will settle down. You added something new and now the hierarchy has to be done over again.

Yeah this morning it looks like more of the blue assessors tail got nipped on. I kind of wonder if it is worse than it really looks. The tank nipped of the chromises tail when I first put it in there. So you think this may just be part of the process...I have a fish trap coming from BRS on Friday...if its still getting worse by then, I'm trapping the chromis and he will go to another fine home. I hear that particular trap works fantastic too btw. For 60 bucks it should right? The blue assessor seems like he tries to come out into the open swimming space and the chromis just goes after him every time. Not always instantly but rather quickly...

It sounds lile the chromis is establishing itself in the pecking order and your blue assesor is losing. I prefer the assesor and would rehome the chromis.

Trust me I feel the same way...however last night the chromis seemed to be much more chill...for now. I did go on ahead and purchase one of those snazzy fish traps people rave about from BRS. And I know for a fact that hog will be dumb enough to go inside it! Its a greedy fish for sure. I receive the trap on Monday, if he persist and the assessor fins continue to disappear then yeah hes a gone. I will say that last night I was watching them for a couple of hours and he was letting the assessor swim back out in the open...so maybe theres hope. Honestly I'v had the assessor almost a year, the chormis like 4 weeks. Not too emotionally attached to the chromis lol

How big is that tang? A 90g cube is kind of tight for a fish that gets to be 6-7 inches. I have one on the larger side in a 55g QT tank and he paces QUITE a bit. It could be a building aggression issue.

O he's small...like 3"...maybe maybe 4"...figured the tang police would nab me on that. Yes, trust me, google search right size tank for Tomini tang or any tang...some said my 90 was big enough...but since its taller and not as long some went against it. Trust me between here and Reef Central I got about 50/50 different opinions...I think what makes it okay for me is that, A only the mid to lower area is covered with LR...B that means the whole mid level to top area is open. However he never really goes up past about the a foot marker, tank is 2 feet tall. The other thing that is important is to make sure they have ally ways so to say to swim around. Mine does not pace at all...he's been in there like 6 months. He just is a good boy, eats his nori once a day, watches TV with me in the man cave, and cruises around. He actually had HLLE sorta bad when I got him...I put him in the 10 gallon quarantine...which yes it was small, but it was for his own good as I didn't want to introduce ick or something into my tank. He stayed in there for around 2 months, then I put him into the big tank. His HLLE completely went away and has not came back. No scares or anything...Blue Zoo Aquatics kinda ****ed me off. When I bought him, he was suppose to ship like 4 days later...well long story short the Tomini tangs were all on hold for about a month and a half! So I was weary to get him in the first place...and I got him, and I could see some HLLE...so basically they sold me a bad fish. His freckles weren't showing and color was kinda drab. But slowly we brought him back, and he's been real healthy ever since, and honestly really is the "commander of the tank" he really kinda to me is the balance and keeps everyone honest. I enjoy him....if he ever starts showing signs of stress and "outgrowing my tank", me as an overall animal lover will transport him to another hopefully good home and not let the fish suffer.

Mm.. I call myself a part of the so called "Tang Police" and a Tomini or any other bristletooth is fine in a 4 ft tank, but that's it. Not zebrasoma or any others..

Well Scooter31707 I think you were right...it seems things have chilled out a lot! I was always hopeful because the blue assessor still had quite a vicious appetite and the chromis was never stopping him from eating food. Over the past two days, the only thing I can notice the chromis does is kinda do a half way sissy "lunge" towards the assessor, and its pretty few and far between now. The main thing I noticed is the assessor is back out in the open, and is able to go from one side of the tank to the next with no harassment, the Chromis is demanding him to go back into the one corner like before. Seems he just kind of scare him a bit and the assessor scoots over a tad, thats it. For now things look to be encouraging and balancing themselves out. The chromis seems to be calming down in general and swimming more "relaxed" I call it. Thanks though for you insight, I think you nailed it. I'll monitor the assessor back fins and watch for regrowth, those black and white chromis are actually really pretty...you would think those colors are kinda lame, but they have blue eyes which are cool, and there tails have "stringer" on the back of them...or tassels I guess you call them. Neat fish for sure if you ever get a chance to get one.

Hey guys just letting you know that the Chromis is working out okay and that everyone has been fat and happy now for over a week or so now...the aggression levels have went down to zero basically. All fins are growing back on assessor and its doing well...actually the chromis hides a bit now lol.
