Trouble with SPS

I would start by bumping the white up (slowly) to see if you see improvement. Other than that, maybe give the tank another month. SPS tend to be very sensitive to whatever it is in new tanks that is lacking, and maybe yours still needs more time.

As an aside, I upgraded from a 90 to a 100 and used all the same equipment, rock, livestock and some water, and for a time I couldn't keep red dragon, which now is growing like a weed in my tank a year later. No idea what the difference was.

OK this is the worst advice you could have given him... do you run a hydra52 over your tank? Clearly not.

It can take weeks upon weeks to notice changes in coloration. I would continue to wait and see if the nutrient issue helped.

Thanks, as usual this hobby is always a trial of ones patience. I will wait and see for any changes.

I have the same light I would recommend not going over 27% with the whites even I think that can be too high depending on how low you have your light awl. If you have low nutrients your sps are not going to be favorable to higher light off the start. The whites on these fixtures put out some serious par

Do you mind posting your settings for me so I can compare?

Sent the director settings to your email, I'm also running 4 t5 tube to suppliment the hydra52, I would suggest 27 as a high starting point, I was going to run my whites at 17 or 18 with the t5s, also my fixture sits about 14" awl. You should be good at anywhere from 8 to 12, if you have the ability start highest to five more spread, if that's not an issue I would start at 10 and adjust from there.

Thanks again for the settings Chief. I am happy to report an improvement in some of my sps health, a few of the pieces that browned out have now regained color and starting to show some PE. Seems like they are getting better everyday. A few of the other pieces were to far gone and were removed, but definitely happy to see progress in the right direction.

Not sure if it was the lowering my light settings or bumping my feedings, or even a combo of the two. Thanks again to all who helped. Will post some pictures when I get a chance.
