Troubles with my AC Jr.

Hey everyone I am having some troubles with my AC Jr. Last week the temperature readings started becoming extremely erratic which started impacting my lighting program by keeping my metal halide from coming on. Then the controller quit connecting to my computer (so I can not adjust my program now to delete the temperature cut out function for the metal halides). I contacted Neptune and they told me the temperature probe has went bad which makes sense except I still have the issue of the controller not connecting to the Aqua Notes, and I would prefer to not buy a new probe if the problem is actually with the controller. Everything had worked great for about a month before this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have had nothing but problems with my ACjr. If possible I'd suggest returning it. In 2 years I've gone through 3 temp probes and it has caused 2 tank crashes.

I'd sell it but I'm too ethical to dump this piece of crap on anyone. Right now it's nothing more than an expensive powerstrip for me.

Well that is not very good news. I had actually heard pretty decent reviews of the Neptune products. I actually picked up this unit form a guy who used it for about a couple of weeks before I bought it off of him. I was planning on getting one of their higher end controllers if I liked this one.

Does anyone else have any feedback on their Neptune temp probes going bad?

there are plenty of bad reviews on this controller. I myself bought it last month without checking the neptune forum. i right now refuse to use the temperature controlling aspect of it for the fear of how flaky the temp probe is for a lot of people. i might start using it to control fans and maybe lights in a few months with some kind of second line of defense to protect against it malfunctioning. The reason you buy a controller is for peace of mind. So far it is nothing but an anxiety provoking peice of equipment for me. there a lot of people who swear by it. Right now the jury is out on it for me. If i had to do it all over again i would not have bought it.

PhillipOSU, ley me know if you want to get rid of the one you have now.
Was looking to try one out before I look into a high end one also.
