TRS robbed

This is disgusting. I'm sure some of the livestock is already dead.

Is this an upstate problem or are robberies like this happening elsewhere too?

Unfortunately insurance will never cover a loss like this. They'll require proof of the loss, underestimate the value and give you pennies on the dollar.

If anyone happened to take recent pictures of their tanks it might help prove the loss.

Don't laugh- I've tracked down my own ripped off stuff in the past. When you get into niche items the market is small.

The latest news of The Reef Shop getting robbed is alarming and extremely disappointing. I hope that those thieves will be greatly punished for such terrible action. Will keep my eyes peeled and security up. Willing to help out in any way possible.

I know what I'd feel like if I lost a coral that I'd been growing for years and years!

some one who steals high end corals like that would never sell or trade them online ....
not every one knows what a rare coral is, they either keep to themselves, or simply drive a couple of hours to canada or south usa ...
a thief would still electronics and dry goods.

I hear there is a court case about the robbery at ARC .... I "hear" ... if true, then they know who the robers are ? hmm suspicious ...

I hope Tom had camera's just as Randy did. My trailer and my neighbor's shed was broken into this week and had the padlocks cut and it seems that there's a crew sweeping across Penfield robbing sheds of lawn equipment. Crime is rampant recently in the suburbs this time of year unfortunately.

If I were the thief and were trying to profit from my dim-witted efforts of coral theft I would NEVER try to sell them as is. That would be like stealing someone's kid and then trying to adopt him out using his name and birth certificate. I would instead cut them into many little unrecognizable pieces and go that route.

i have ALWAYS thought that people in the aquarium hobby are honest as most of them have the means for such an expensive endevour but it seems that there are criminals everwhere no matter what a retailer may have . tom is an awesome stand up person and in now way deserves such a loss from his loved profession and we need to ban together with open eyes and honest hearts in an attempt to find the morons that have done this . we also need to do this for randy who also had a huge loss due to someones attemp at gaining thease rare corals or just the monatary gain from their sales . if any one even thinks they have an idea of who this could be please speak up and help them as we owe it to them for their honest efforts to bring us such diverse life forms . yes they are living corals and many of us consider all forms of life as pets or even companions and evns at times prized possesions . it is so sad that they are so stupid as they will have such a hard time selling thease corals anywhere near here that we need to think of persons in this hobby that may have moved out of town but had somewhat an inside idea of what valuable assets thease particular corals are and may have stolen them to move them far away from here in order to sell them to people with no lnowledge of thease upstate reef shops . please take some time and put some thought as to who may have moved away in the past few years and might have an avenue in some other state . we are smarter together than they can imagine and i bet someone actually knows who they are but doesnt suspect them . criminals are everywhere in ALL WALKS OF LIFE! reguardless of their riches people want more so lets beware they may be our "friends" and also keep an ear and eye open to put a stop to this obserdity ! think , think , think , they are right in front of us acting as our friends and its not going to stop until we find them .

Does anyone have an itemized list of items taken perhaps pictures of such items to be on the lookout for? There are so many online outlets that amongst us we are sure to come across something.

as i stated above we NEED to band together and find the people responsible for this crime along with the stolen items from Randy .anything suspicious needs to be brought to the proper authorities attention, no matter how small the clues are as they all add up . if we all pay attention to all the avenues it should be quite possible for us to help them out IMO . both Randy and Tom are awesome people and maybe together we can help them get justice .i have the cameras and am getting my shop a christmas present just for such idiotic people at whatever level of their stupidity . next week i will have all the cameras hooked up to a recording video memory device . keep your eyes and ears peeled for anything that would help them out in finding the responsible persons for this crime !i hope that i can be the one to find the pertinent information to catch them . remember that any information no matter how small may be the key to them being caught so PLEASE. PLEASE,PLEASE, take notes and find them ASAP.
Tom i am sooooo sorry for your loss as Madison was always a great addition to an already awesome "aquatic"experience . i used to love playing ball with him and he will be missed by all of us .
