yeh, those arent button polyps at all, I would say they are a very nice bright GPE, just like there are with RPE's some are dull and some are bright

The colors are just not similar by this standard my PPEs are just really dull RPEs. See what i mean. I am not sure, has anyone seen these before?

I am not sure what the enchino is called i got it for ten bucks at my LFS they told they didnt know why i was bothering cause it looked dead. HAHAHA It has colored up very nice but i have no name.

Anyway, other comments on the zoa? Mucho maybe you have seen these before.

edwing206: I will keep growing them and when they hit ten i will be sure to spread the love!!

not button polyps they are paly gigantis

They are actually Zoanthus gigantus (other PE's have been DNA tested and grouped into that species fairly recently, and from communications with James Reimer-the researcher who did the testing-the white striping on the underside of the polyp, along with the green slit mouth are indicative of this species). I'd have to guess that 99% of what people call Paly's are not Palythoa species... PD's and Nuclear Greens are actually Paly's. Polyp size is not a determining factor on what Genus the coral is. Those do appear to be true GPE's. Nice find:). The other pic of the 'GPE' is more likely the Green Stardust PE (which morphs to all kinds of different colors). The light pink ring around the inside of the oral disc could continue to color up and be more pronounced, which could be followed by more green in the center and potentially speckles (like Desert Foxes and other morphs of GSPE's). Check out zoaid and look for the GSPE's to see the multiple looks.

These are a few looks at some I have that started like the ones in the pic above that I'm calling GSPE's.
