Both of my clowns have a white stringy mucus all over them. The female is having alot of problems swimming. I have had ich in the tank before and I have been feeding heavy with garlic. Yesterday I added 2 chalices and a hammer coral and this morning I noticed them all covered.

Ideas, solutions?

Working on it now. Female is just laying on a frag rack not swimming around that much. Male looks alot better but not great. They were fine last night!

Go buy some, of anyone on this board G is the guy to listen to about fish disease.

brook is pretty serious, not something that fish live through without quarantine and proper medications, I'd make a run to the nearest fish store for that formalin, and really consider setting up to QT them if at all possible.

oh gosh...so sorry. is that ich? because i've never seen them covered in mucus before...just the white spots...

I think that the rid ick is formalin based, so it would be worth a shot. Brook moves fast, but usually targets clowns more than other fish. Sorry to hear about your loss...

I had it once with 2 percs and lost one. IME, a fresh water dip seemed to provide temporary relief to the larger of my two percs, but may have added stress to the smaller one (or it was just too late).

As others have already said, formalin is what you need to cure it.

Just got back from taking my girlfriend to the ER. Strep. Gave the male a fresh water bath. We shall see. There is just way to much going on!
