Orange Perc. 100 %.I own about 1000 of these. They come from Onyx paerents. They just never get black color. In the perc world there are 3 types.Orange Perc [no black at all},True perc{black in the front flank,Orange in the back flank}Onyx Perc {Black in both flanks}.

Ocellaris. Some people will say percula because of the eyes, but the eyes don't mean much.

I agree, they appear to be ocellaris to me. I also agree that the eye method is not 100% accurate in distinguishing between ocellaris and true perculas.

I think they are A.percula, 10 and rarely 9 dorsal spines. also notice the thickening of the black boprdering the white above the eyes. also the clear eyes definetly not the best way to tell but added with the other things and I get true perc.

I think if these are captive bred fish there is always a good chance at some point they have been cross bred. although no real studies have been done, I have run into more then a few breeders who do not recogonise the differece and dont care either. they just breed nemo's .. .

i would have to say perc, i had a pair similar looking to these and they started blacking up in about two weeks after I got them.

They are captive bred. You bring up a very good point. With all the cross breeding going on today, none of us can be 100% sure with fish like this. They could be hybrids for all we know.

The breeder better know seeing as the perc takes about a year to market. The ocellaris takes about 3 months. There is only one breeder of hybrids that I know of.Sanja with the PHOTONS{Onyx Female X B&W Male} .The Breeder raising O's does not want their fish to take forever to get its bars. The breeder of Percs wants as much black as possible. It makes no sence at all to cross them. The fish above are Percs. There is no question about it.

I agree they are perc. but Sanjay is not the only breeder of Percularis SA sells them as well as a few other people and there is even a nasty rumor about a picasso breeder who is actually breeding a mixed pair.

Cross orange true x Orange fasle and sell em as true percs fully barred in 3 months. Not everyone cares more about the fish then the $.

There are guys breeding picasso / snowflakes , maroon/Ocellaris ect ect but they keep thier heads down to avoid the outcry of the people who disagree with selective breeding in ornamentals.

I have a pair of photons that are showing prespawn cleaning ;)

Thanks everyone. These are my clowns, and PGA was asking on my behalf.

I got them at a local LFS at the end of last week. They were marketed as "Tank raised Percula" and were next to a tank of "Tank Raised Ocellaris." I was unsure of whether that was right; from the looks of the disagreement on the board, it looks to be with good reason :)

I meant for it to come across as Amphirion Ocellarice so I shortend it to A.False Percula as in False Ocellarice
