The white eggs may have been ones that hatched before the dip is my thought. Did you check to make sure they were not already hatched?

I've experimented with a couple of spare frags last week as my Bayer didnt turn up and I didnt like the effect H2O2 had on the Acros.

Michael, it is disappointing that you are choosing to throw away your acros...personally I dont think the H2O2 is very suitable as a dip; because it indiscriminately attacks both acropora tissue and the AEFW.

IMO Bayer is a better product because it stuns the AEFW's (thus they fall off) well before the active ingredients start to do damage to the acros.

IMO, even Revive and CoralRX are better.

FWIW after the 2nd dipping, I've not found a single AEFW. That means the dipping method is working. The dipping stuns the AEFW and is thereby removed from the acro.

Hope you dont mind my post; just wanted to put a different perspective.

I think if you chose to dip in Bayer, clipped healthy branches and threw away base parts/infected parts of the colony, you could have saved most of your acros.

The only reason I decided to throw them away was simple choice for me. First off the acros were so badly damaged from the AEFW and dips that all they were doing was polluting the tank and keeping the AEFW alive to bread and possibility affect the good ones. I had to make a decision to keep the good ones in my tank safe. Now the second reason is I actually seen AEFW crawl out from one of the polyps so therefor dips may not be as affective as we once thought.
As for the Bayer dip I sure wish I could find it in New york as its only sold in New Jersey but maybe I can find it on line

It may be available in westchester and upstate....the areas we live in have a complete different set of rules when it comes to chemicals especially pesticides. Know all to well from work....I've looked in the past but don't have the info anymore. If you could mike, PM me the label of what one is known to work. I'm sure there is something that will work locally just have to check the AIs. I believe the main ingredient was imadacloprid which is readily available all over in other products can't remember the other that was mixed with it

No it doesn't kill eggs so you will need to dip once a week for a few weeks to get them all...
