I have some questions fellow reefers, for starters i picked up this setup for a fairly reasonable low price from a fellow reefer here in town. My question is it came with the live rock, sand, ultra violet sterilizer, 96w. Pc. Quad. retrofit with reflector I need to replace the bulb. It also came with a large Rena canister filter in the bottom cabinet. I have the tank up and running with no lights until i can purchase one soon, question is the fellow reefer i bought it from just left the rock and sand in there with no lighting for some time. I also heard him say hes turned it off for some time and stopped running the tank. When i went to pick up the setup we tested the water and it read 0 for ammonia and 0 for nitrite, i also tested for ph. And it read 8.0
The back chamber was filled with bioballs, i pulled them all out as i want the biological to come from the live rock. Now the back chamber is empty. . .what can i put back there? I would like to run the berlin method and keep it simple with filtration and lighting. Im not going to run a skimmer at this time, i will keep up with water changes. What do you guys think? I will try and post a picture. . .

You can put live rock back there, or what I would run, Seachem Matrix. Are you wanting a different light?

It sounds like a good deal.

Hi Ray, yes it was a good deal for $150. Im trying to post a picture of it with my samsung galaxy tab although its not letting me? Yeah i think i want to go with some leds? What did you have in mind?

Have you a photobucket account?I put up photos from my iPad through photobucket.
I myself am from the stone ages, I still use Metal Halides...But I will say if it is in your budget, to go with a radion.I've seen what it's capable of, it's...Impressive!The Aqua Illuminations (AI) SOL fixture is pretty good too, but if your looking for Metal Halide setup, a 150w would give you plenty of light.I can't really speak for T-5's, A local reefer I know has amazing growth out of his TEK T-5's!
