Trying some new Mh bulbs

I ordered (2) 250w 14k SE bulbs from reefoptics, the are on fleabay and have their own site. Shipped to my door they were $78. I read some good stuff on them and spoke with someone currently using them. They shipped today so I will have them maybe Saturday(USPS). I'll post some pics and let you know how they look.

I got the bulbs in today. I must say they packed them really well with bubble wrap. They shipped them USPS on 7/1 and I received them on 7/3 today. So far very happy with the cs and communication. I placed the order on their web site on 6/30 and the bulbs shipped within 24hrs. Oh and they came with a Reef Optics towel! Here is a pic of the bulbs and the towel..:rollface: I will take pics when I fire them up tomorrow.

That's quite a good price. I'm interested to see what they look like. What bulbs did you have previously? Perhaps some before/after shots would be in order after the new bulbs have burned in a bit.

I definitely wanted to take initial pics and then more when they burn in after a week. I used Phoenix 14k 250w de on my 75. I then tried a Reefmax 14k bulb that I got from the hydroponics store in cranberry to use over my temp system and new reflector. I really liked those but he said he would not carry them since the demand was not high. I will also take a pic of the reefmax bulb to compare it to. These will be on a cap n coil ballast kit also initially. I will add the second reflector over my temp system and move my dual 250w e ballast onto the temp system also. When I put the second reflector up in a couple days I'll also get some side-by-side pics of the two bulbs.

OK so I have the second reflector up over my temp system. I put one of the reef optics 250w 14k bulbs on the left and the Reefmax 14k on the right. I tried taking pics with my camera and my droid but they didn't come out very well. These are initial pics and I will update after a week or two. The Reef Optics 14k are not as blue as the Reefmax or the Phoenix DE that I had on my 75 gallon.

It's really hard to tell since you can't see through the sides. I may try shutting down all power heads and return pump and take a couple top down pics.
