Trying to feed anemone, darn clown!

So everytime I put a silverside in the anemone the clown attacks it until the anemone can't hold onto it any longer. The clown attacks my hands just when I even get the silverside close to it. How do you feed the anemone if the clown won't let you?

I use either a kabob stick or other long device to get the food to where the anemone can take it and then prop up my fish net in such a way that the clown cannot get at the anemone until it is done eating. My clown was very aggressive and would basically beat up the anemone and take the food out from inside it's mouth. If your clown is aggressive, which it seems to be, make sure that the anemone is done eating before letting the clown near it again. Good luck :)

We normally feed the fish on one end of the tank, and then give the silverside to the nem. This morning my wife accidentally let the silverside fall into the tank with the food from the feeding dish. Lois, my female clarkii, grabbed it and fed it to Krypton, my GBTA. The wife was amazed.

BTW, the male clown is named Clark,

I always feed my clown just before the anemone. Even then, that's not always enough to keep her occupied. Mine's pretty easily distracted, though, so anything from wiggling my fingers near her to just disturbing the surface of the water usually catches her attention and keeps her from stealing the food from the anemone. It's always a battle of wits, though.

Thump the clown in the head when he bites and he'll get the picture. JK, Distract the clown by feeding him first and then make a sneak attack on feeding the anemone.

I always use a pair of tongs to set it right onto the tentacles of the nem. They usually close so quick on the silverside morsel that the fish don't have a chance to take it out. In the case that they do try I just kind of move them away with the tongs till the nem has closed up enough that they can't get to it.
