I just bought a TS 48 set come with 4 x 6100 and controller.

Would this be too much for my 180 gal tank ?

Yes, you probably only need 2 6100's. Some people are using 4 or more but it generally is too much unless you have SPS that have acclimated to high flow and are keeping a bare bottom tank.
