Ttm and formalin

I have a few fish in ttm right now, started yesterday. I already have tank two heated and aerated for Monday.

Rather than buy another heater and air pump for bucket dip in formalin in between transfers, can I, on the 70th hour, add formalin to the ttm tank they have been in, leave the fish in there 40 minutes or so, and then move them to ttm tank 2?

I thought it out and can't see why not, since the water they will be in is going down the drain anyhow right after dip.

Thanks

You sure can. Make sure no other meds in tank and its well aerated.

You would go through less formalin if you just took a gallon of water from the old TTM tank for the dip and moved the airstone from that tank over to the bucket for the duration of the dip. Then transfer fish into the new tank from the bucket.

Ok, and for rid ich, (4.26% formalin) how many ML's per gallon should be used?

Also, if a fish has frayed fins, can the formalin be used, or must it heal first?

Let the fish in the bath for 45 minutes then put in transfer tank. You can always use nitrofuracin green in the transfer tank. Its a antibiotic to help them heal.

You just don't know what other ingredients is in the and to get 37% formalin you would need a lot of rid ich
