Ttm question

When putting new fish in the first container / tank for ttm when brining new fish from lfs. Should the tanks salinity match the lfs or my DT? The lfs I'm planning to buy from has there salinity at 1.018. Which is kind of low. Also by the time I'm done ttm should I keep salinity as same as lfs or slowly increase by the time I finish and put them into qt.

Drip acclimation is what I use and making sure salinity matches bag or bucket. However, I am not to aware of ttm.

you always want the salinity of the first tank to match whatever is in the bag. then you just float the bag (closed) for about 15 minutes for a temp match, then let them loose.

gradually over the next week or so, raise the salinity. each new tank transfer is a good chance to do this. if you plan accordingly and make the increases small enough, you won't need to acclimate.

i often use insulin syringes to pop a tiny hole in the bag and draw a sample to verify the salinity.

i wouldn't drip acclimate. that can quickly become a killer.

Match the LFS on first transfer. You can raise the salinity by 0.002 each transfer. If you do 4 weeks of observation after ttm, you have plenty of time to raise it to match your dt. I think I remember reading you can raise 0.001-0.002 per day with no problems.

This is what I do as well.
