Tuan's rimless build

Nice build Tuan, we have a very similar setups. Can we get some sump pics :)

As far as QT, the simpler the better,10gallon and a biowheel

Thanks Bryan, your tanks were always an inspiration to me. Many of the live rocks you gave me when I 1st started the hobby are still in my system :)

I run a 20 gal qt with a fluval 404 canister filter. Makes it nice when I want to service or clean without disturbing tank. Holds enough water for 15% water change and with the various compartments I can place different sort of filter pads or carbon. I Take out the stock foams and have a large sponge that I keep in my sump seeded with bacteria so when I need to set it up I simply pull 23 gallons from main system (less than weekly water change amount) and throw in the pvc pieces and away we go. Never even had an ammonia spike. I have been running it for a while now and have placed 2 rocks in it. I know they will soak up copper but I haven't noticed it effect the copper content after I pull the copper out with a water change, cuprasorb and carbon. I am sure that it's there but never gonna use those rocks anywhere else. It seems to have made a big difference with certain fish in the qt. The best thing is most mess have a base 20 gal dose so it makes it easy.

Good luck.

Thanks for the great tip Greenhead. I was planning to use my 60 as a qt but that may be too much work.

See what I mean by very similar 😜

Thanks Tuan, it made it easier that i was able to build the stand myself. That way I was able to build and change things as it evolved. Finally getting the last piece of the build tomorrow
