tube anemone

how do u move a tube anemone while switching tanks? dont want to damage it

Are you just upgrading to a larger tank or are you traveling a particular distance? No real special handling except being careful not to damage the tube itself when removing it from the substrate. Can get tricky if it had been in the tank for a long time and is sticking to the glass bottom of the tank under the substrate. Otherwise easy move since they are hardy as hell.

I haven't tried it with removing tube anemones but here is a suggestion. First clear all surrounding substrate around the tube (dont remove anything attached to the tube), take a large turkey baster, positioning the opening of the baster about an inch away or so from the stuck area, then sweeze the bulb end of the baster multiple times until the tube anenome is free from the glass. It can be a real fore arm workout but it does work for removing anemones off glass or rockwork without damaging them.

Hmm, glad I read this. I am just moving the tank that two tube nems are in and was wondering the same thing.
