Tube Lights as Moon Lights?

Since X-Mas shopping is coming, I plan on seeing some soon.

You know the lights that have a plastic tube over them, they are LED and very flexable, but give a cleaner look then normal X-mas lights. I was wondering about using those in a canopy for moon lights. You can get blue lights, and being so flexable you could add make it custom...anyone ever try this or think it's a good idea?

I have never tried it, but I think depending on the lenght you use, it may be too bright. I have 6 moon light in my tank, in rope lights, 6 lights is like 2"s.

I used a cold cathode tube for my moon lights and it works great.
