tubes that shot spiderwebs?

I have these tube like things that look like applestems I guess that like to shot spiderwebs out of them, doesn't seem to harm anything but kind of wondering what they are and maybe how to get rid of them. They are very hard and hard to get off of rock. Sorry no pics at this time

vermetid snails. they are pretty much harmless, but their population can get out of hand. the webs can irritate some corals, and i have had one of the tubes poke a hole in my colt coral. didnt really hurt the colt though, but something like that can cause an infection.

If you want to thwart them just cover end of tube with epoxy, problem solved.
