Deyoe- here's what I have to sayo:
I see a lot of people confuse "Tulip" anemones with Majano.
It would help to see a picture of your "Tulips" :)

IME & IMO Tulip anemones don't reproduce as quickly as Aiptasia or Majano (this has a lot to do with husbandry practices) and don't kill corals with their sting. They are easy to peel up by their foot and juvenile Clownfishes will host in them.

gary are these two seperate species?
because the green and pink ones reproduce faster than the brown i promise you that.

here is a list of corals they both kill but the green and pink again are most aggresive.

they kill sps of all kinds. xenia. mushrooms. zoanthids, encrusting gorgonian, and lps corals. these i have seen them kill in my own tank in the last 6 months since i was given these as a sick joke by a reefer. who was getting out of the hobby due to these things they killed all his coral.

I can't tell you if those two anemones are a different species because I don't know the species of either one.
Several anemone "experts" have physically examined the green and pink type in your photo and they couldn't provide an accurate ID, either.
Personally, the green and pink type have never been a problem for me in my main reef aquarium.

in my tank they grow in patches and wreak havoc dont they make your sps RTN? they do on mine right around the anemone.
do you have softies touching them?

Those are so pretty..I wouldn't kill them, I would just put them in a small tank by themselfs. I think they would be perfect for people who have small aquariums.

No and no :D
Tulips attach at much lower spots in my aquarium than most corals are located. I've never seen a Tulip anemone (or mini carpet) kill a coral in my aquarium.
I have seen Ricordea, Plerogyra and H. magnifica kill these small anemones.

No- my clowns have a large gigantea :D
(That's a picture of my buddies aquarium.)
Clowns do host in Tulip anemones. (I've seen percula and ocellaris in Tulips, but I'm sure a few more species will host in them.) Small (juvenile) Clowns are a better size for these small anemones.
I have high water flow at the top of my reef. IME Tulip anemones prefer less turbulent flow and (perhaps) less intense lighting than is found at the top of my reef aquarium.

I wish Aiptasia were as controllable as Tulip anemones.

welll thanks im still going to kill every one of mine,
unless you want me to keep them and i can drop them off at your place when i head back to Upstate in a couple weeks. you said they dont split easily maybee you just need more. :)

my opinion is the complete and total oposite these have been much harder to deal with than aptaisia

OK mine look like the one on the left...green and red tips...small about the size of a dime right now...I have 2 right now that I see and will take care of them tomorrow...don't want to take any chances...

Intresting to see everyones view...If I can get them off in one piece does anyone want them?
