Hi! I currently own a 29 gallon biocube. My live sand just got put in. After my tank is done acclimating, I am wondering If I can put any tunicates in it. I have found several species of tunicates forsale but which one is best? are tunicates even reccommended for begginers? would they be ok in a 29 gallon tank? Please help!

-where should I get tunicates if they are reccommended?- so many questions, I think I need a tunicate expert! LOL:spin3:

Tunicates? someone please tell me if they are good for begginers. I forgot to mention that i read they die of malnutrition sometimes? Is that true?

They're not really well suited for beginners. In fact, a lot of them are tough even for experts. They need heavy, frequent feeding with phytoplankton, which can make it difficult to maintain water quality. You'll also want to culture the phytoplankton yourself, or it will cost you an arm and a leg to keep them properly fed. Culturing phytoplankton isn't particularly difficult, but it takes a lot of attention when you should be concentrating on learning the basics.

I have a baby one that showed up in my tank. I have been watching him for 6 months or so. Only maybe 3/4" by 3/4" with 2 tubes, red in color. I don't do anything special for him at all.
