When running this pump in a sump, how deep must the water be to keep from sucking air? If I have only 10" water would I be better off with two smaller pumps?

I have never tested this and I don't know of anyone who has. I would assume 10" should be fine, it may require the optional strainer basket to diffuse the intake. Just keep in mind it is a very strong pump, more than most people need, unless the tank is 300+ with a fair amount of head pressure I might look at the 1073.060 instead.
