Tunze 1074/2

Hi need some help. I am looking to add a sump to my 360 Lt reef tank, which is not drilled.

Problem I need help with is, What is the maximum height from surface of the water to the top rim of the tank can the 1074/2 cope with. Reason for the question my tank has a measurement of 75mm from the water surface to Tank rim when it's at it's capacity and around 85mm normal running height.

I can't increase the water height as the cross bracing bars of the then would show.

Further to this from the picture of the 1074/2 on the Tunze web site it looks like there is also a water intake which extends below the water surface entry opening. How does this work? surley in the event of a power cut there would be a huge amount of water back syphoned into the sump.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

80mm is the maximum and the overflow can only handle about 1200l/hr.

The intake tube also cuts off when the water level drops below the intake grid at the top, the tube extends to the same height inside and is not directly connected to the U tube in the overflow.
