Hi
i was wondering if i could get more info on this skimmer and how it compares to the 220/2. i have a choice of either getiing one of the above used. i have a 40 breeder that is going to be setup soon for a FOWLR and i would like to upgrade to a reef sooner or later and i dont want to have to replace skimmers. i will be keeping sps when i do by the way. any links to any sites witha review or so or pics with the skimmers in action will greatly be appreciated. thanks

The 230/3 is much better than a 220/2 and should be quite sufficient for a 40breeder.

well as of now i cant buy the 230/3 any more so all i will be able to get is the 220/2. can u give me more info on that one? which of the new tunze classic models does the 220 resemble or is a replacement of.

The 220/2 is a bit underpowered for what you want to do, keep in mind these skimmers have a closed loop/ plankton safe skimming. For anything other than full blown SPS I would say fine but I don't recommend it.

I think you should look at a different skimmer. It would work great for a well maintained softie tank up to about 75 gals. The 9005 would be a great skimmer for that tank.
