Tunze 3152 new out of the box won't work

Hi
I'm sure I've followed the instructions but the first time I tested the float switch it clicked on the pump which buzzed but did not move any water.
I've switched the unit on and off again. Now when I lift the float I can hear a click in the "brain" unit but no noise from the pump at all now and no water shifting.
I presume I may have air in the pump? Have I killed it?
Any suggestions please? I'm going on holiday in 2 days and need it to work!

Try unplugging it and plugging it back in, the controller has a safety timer and after 1.8 minutes of trying to run the pump will not run it again until the power is reset. After the power is reset, try tipping it upside down under water to release any trapped air. If it still does not work, no big deal, we can send a new pump, just let me know.

Just primed the pump. It now will pulse on for a second and dump a squirt of water into the tank but then stops and won't "reload" unless I switch it off and on again.

Does the pump start this pulsing after 1.8 minutes (normal safety time out) or does it do it immediately? What country are you in (I noticed you said "cheers" which is a greeting I am more used to hearing from UK and Australia).
