I am wondering if the 3155 can be set up in a tank that doesn't have a sump. Is there any modification that needs to be done.

It is a standard glass tank with a black plastic lip about it. Open top.
I guess my other question would be how large are the pieces that actually have to go in the tank.
I know it might seem like over kill but I am thinking about using this is my 15gallon nano. I think the people I get to come over and "water" my fish while I am gone are getting a little sick of it. I just want to make sure that the pieces that would go in the tank aren't to big.

The sensors are about 1" square, they mount on rails about the same size. It should work on a standard glass 15 without any additional hardware but the water level may need to be lowered below the trim line for everything to fit. It will probably need to be about 1.5" below the top edge of the tank.
