Tunze 6000 Driver Makes Noise

Hi Roger,

I purchased two Stream 6000's about 3-4 months ago, The driver (7240.26) on one started making a loud whining noise this morning. The sound lasts about 10-15 seconds and goes away. It does this every 30-45 seconds lasting for about 10 seconds. It is so bad, I have had to unplug the unit.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Yes, this is the alarm feature indicating the pump is clogged with lime or algae and you need to clean the pump. Just dissassemble the pump per the instructions and clean all the parts in vinegar and water and make sure they are free moving on each other.
