Tunze 6000 Stream

Will this be adequate flow for a 75 gallon to be able to have SPS thrive? How will I make the flow more erradic, so that it's not blasting a few corals, and all the others are left in dead spots? Just point it at a wall, and let the flow bounce around a little bit? This piece of equipment costs more than my whole tank setup did...I think this should be the next meeting door prize! Any ideas on how to get my hands on one? I'm going to try to get a job after Christmas, so maybe I will be able to get this sooner than expected. One will be plenty right?

Dont tell me I just saw "TUNZE" and "door prize" in the same sentence. *LMFAO* But yeah. They are like the best. Ever. These make Maxis look like battery powered spoons. They are <3<3<3<3<3<3<3 but the price is ebil high.

I had a Tunze w/o the controller on a 72 gal. It was just toooo much for it, and I sold it. Blew the sand and mushrooms around didn't like it. The hanger was pretty big and ugly; glad to hear they now have a magnet attachment. Hopin' for one w/the controller someday soon. I could use more light and better flow.

Lol, I was kidding about the door prize.

Ok, so the controller would definately be worth it, so that'll have to be my birthday present from my parents in March.

Haha, Shane, battery powered spoons! From what i've seen, more like a drunk guy with a spoon.

Joyski,

Does the controller allow you to tone it down a little? Because if it was too much for yours, then it will be too much for mine.

Ok, so i'll look at the 6100.

I had 2x6000 on my 120 and it was definitely not enough, sooo I upgraded my transformers to 6100's, so now I have 2x6100 and let me just say WOW what an upgraded....

With that said yes you can dial them back WITH a controller ie: 7095/7094. but IMO you should go with 2x6000 with the 7095 multicontoller. :D

I have a 6000 with a singlecontroller on my 55 and realistically...I could use a little more.. I do have the new nanostream 6025 for my nano and that.. well... that could be a bit much.. and now way to turn it down, but man believe me, the money you spend on these is more than well worth it.. Good skimmer, good lights and good water movement = Great tank! TUNZE's are really where it is at. When I get the 125 up and running I will definately invest in the Tunze Wavebox and change my transformer up to the 6100 level.. should be okay at that level....for a little while...heh..
Anyone hear anything about that Vortech pump? That thing looks awesome...

Anyone hear anything about that Vortech pump?

Yep it was suposed to give TUNZE a run for the $$$ and it could have but all the extra stuff is racking up the cost way past the TUNZE and I personally will stick with the tried and true German Tech until the vortechs are proven 150% reliable. Wait you can't be 150% reliable! Yeh you can if your TUNZE

Can the tunze 6100's be upgraded to 6200's by changing the transformers?

No. 6000's can be upgraded to 6100's. But 6100's cannot be upgraded to 6200's.

I was told 6100's can be upgraded to 6200's. You might want to check with Roger in the Tunze forum. It's more than changing out the transformers, but not much more.

The 6100's cannot be changed to a 6200. Completely different pump and transfomer.

You absolutely know this for a fact?

I was told by 2 Tunze dealers that they in fact can be upgraded to 6200's.

I asked in the Tunze forum, we shall see. I don't know for sure that's why I asked those 2 dealers which could also be wrong..

Yes. I purchased 6000's and upgraded them to 6100's. I have been looking at a 6200 for the back of my tank. They are a completely different size pump.

The 6000 and 6100 are the same size, the 6200s are a bit bigger from what Ive read. It would seem that a 6100 could'nt be upgraded to a 6200 but thats just a guess from me.

Speaking of doorprizes...
I know of a place where I can get great doorprizes (TUNZE, skimmers, ect.) but I need funding. Lets say, if yall donate $150 I could scrounge some decent prizes. What do you all think?
