Tunze 6000

Roger,
I have been going back and forth between the Tunze, Sea Swirl and the Oceans Motions wavemakers. I think I am going to go with the Tunze because it does not require any plumbing or pump for the wavemaker. I currently have a 120 gallon reef tank and I was wondering if one 6000 will work fine or do I need two to get the full wavemotion. Also, I am planning on moving away from softies and LPS and move to mostly SPS and clams, if that helps with your response. Finally, should I wait for the new 7095 controller or just go ahead and order the 7091. What is the difference between the two controllers and when is the 7095 coming out?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I cant help much but I can tell you that I know a guy that has a 6000 on a 75 and its barely to much, If it were me I would rather have 2 in a tank that size. I have no idea on the controllers though sorry.

I have a 60" long 110 gal with 2 6000's and its perfect for SPS. For me it works out to a smidge over 30x turnover. I also have about 800 from my main return and probably 350 from my chiller. If you want SPS in your tank I would recomend two of the 6000's.

2 would be preferred but you can certainly start with one. The 7091 is for one pump only and will continue to be made as is. The 7095 replaces the 7094. I like the 7095 but it is more expensive by about $50. It adds a few more features which include a new program that idles one pump while pulsing the other. Faster intervals down from a range of 1 min-12hrs to 1sec-12hrs. More visual displays, more water resistant construction and an integrated moonlight feature.

Thanks all for your comments.

Roger, is the 7095 available now or is it coming out in September or later?

So, for two 6000 streams and the 7095 controller, the cost is approximately $693.00, according to your website, not including shipping. Does that sound about right?

Roger,
I have a 6' 125 gal AGA. I wanted to add a stream. From what I've read, the primo solution would be two 6000's with a 7095. Is this what you would recommend?

Thanks Roger.
Do all retailers pretty much price the 6000's the same?
Are package deals available?
What I'm looking to get is:
(2) 6000 streams
(1) 7095 controller
(2) Magnetic brackets

Given the short supply, unless you have a coupon from a vendor, are buying a complete set up from an LFS or happen to hit a sale it is unlikely you will find much deviation from MSRP. More than half of that money goes to the factory to pay for the item and i get a small percentage and shipping and customs fees take up a small percentage- the dealers don't have a lot of room to negotiate so I couldn't imagine more than a 5-10% discount would be offered at best. I know some of the mail order houses and LFS's have holiday and anniversary sales and unless you are a regular somewhere and get a coupon it is likely your best bet- but you have to wait for such a sale.
