Tunze 6025 + 6015 / Apex LITE Controller...

Hello,

I'm in the midst of setting up a 40B project and am currently collecting equipment for it. I am going to be obtaining an Apex LITE controller and plan on utilizing NON-controllable powerheads to begin with. Down the road, I will plan on upgrading to the controllable line.

I plan on using a 6025 on the left, a 6025 on the right and a 6015 on the back wall of the tank for added variable / cross-current.

My question is how should I cycle these through the Apex LITE? I know the non-controllable ones aren't keen on being cycled on/off at frequent intervals. But how frequent is too frequent? 5 min? 10 min? I don't want to ruin these powerheads by utilizing them with my Apex.

15 minutes is the bare minimum, they will chatter briefly on every start up, I would personally run 30-60 minutes with a 1-5 minute overlap (both pumps on briefly), that seems to be the best way to do it to minimize noise.

Thanks very much for the info, Roger! I will be sure not to cycle them at anything shorter than 30 min. intervals. I will tentatively plan to cycle them at 45 min. intervals and keep a standard on/off cycle.
