Tunze 6025 clattering and 6065 not starting

I have 2 6025's and 2 6065's, right now one of the 6025's is clattering , and will not start, I took it apart and cleaned it, although it hasn't been in service that long, but it didn't seem to last. If I pull it out of the water while it's trying to start it will start, but I have to do it every time.
The 6045 isn't clattering, but it isn't starting either. When I took it apart it looks like the propeller is hitting part of the housing, since the farthest edges seem to be nipped off. Is there a remedy for these issues?

Thanks,

Jim

I noticed another issue this morning when I thought it hadn't started again. The pump was running in the wrong direction.
The 6065.

Can you clarify, your title mentions a 6065 but your post mentions a 6045? They have different designs and potential problems so this is important.

Have either ever been used on a wavemaker?

The potential causes could be:

a) debris or lime build up
b) stripped or broken propeller (especially with a wavemaker which is not permitted and will cause just this type of damage)
c) for 6025 or 6045 a pulled out or broken metal shaft, the shaft should stay permanently part of the motor.

Sorry for the typo in that sentence, it is a 6065. I'm not sure what you mean by "wave maker", I do have them on a 6 hour interval using a digital timer, and they are turned off for feeding, so they are turned off and back on again a few times a day.
FWIW, the 6065's were put in service one month ago, and the 6025's about three months ago.

That use would be fine, by wavemaker I was referring to something that turns the pumps off and on every couple minutes or few seconds. For the 6065, I can only guess the propeller is broken and it is spinning, but backwards, and as a result you see no flow, a new propeller blade would solve this, if you PM me your info I can send them to you. For the 6025 it is hard to say. I have never seen a dead motor, that much I will say. I would guess it is either some grit or debris caught between the prop/magnet assembly and the shaft. Or the shaft is broken or pulled out which would be very unlikely unless this pump was old stock from pre 2008, which would be also unlikely if you bought it from any of the dealers listed on our website. Or, the propeller is broken which would also usually be an issue from a pre 2008 pump. I would open this pump and check these things, if possible email me some pictures of the prop assembly (Tunze@sbcglobal.net)
