i just got two tunze 6025. one of them is making a loud rattling noise. took it apart and made sure the prop was in wright put back in still rattling. don't know what to do. is this normal.

tom-01,

It could be an alignment issue with the propellor or the housing, you can try swapping these components to confirm.
Also check the small oring washer is in place at the bottom of the shaft and that the shaft is fixed and not lose.

Graeme

On a new pump that is rattling the usual cause is the vasline they use in the pump for assembly and the test run. Often the washer gets stuck to the magnet, take the prop assembly out and check for the stainless steel washer, make sure it is on the shaft underneath the prop assembly, wipe off any excess vaseline. This generally solves it.

i took the prop off and noticed that the shaft was lose in the housing. could i have a defective unit.
