Does the 6025 pull too little current to be controller on its own?

I don't know personally, but I have heard of plugging in a night light with a plug on the outside into thte DC8, then plugging whatever device into the night light. This ups the draw and the AC is able to switch. I think you have to do this with the Aqualifter pumps.. I think that where I read about it, a thread about Aqualifters.

There are easy fixes for the older units; the issue happens because of the low-load devices do not draw enough power to allow the triacs to turn off. What you can do is to plug a night-light AND the device in question into the same DC8 outlet; the night-light will add enough load to allow the DC8 to work properly. If you want a more elegant solution you could purchase a 'Socket Expansion', they run around $40 and plug the Socket Expansion into the DC8 and the device into the socket expansion.
