Tunze 6055 problem

Hi,
I purchased two 6055's a couple of months ago. There are 4 plastic prongs that hold on the horseshoe shapped holder for the pump. I have bumped both pumps while cleaning the tank and between the two pumps I have broken 6 of the prongs. Has anyone made a suggestion as to making those attachment peices a little bigger so as not to brake when you bump them. I guess my only alternative is to glue the horseshoe peice to the inside magnet.

Thanks Bob

Just glue it! I had mine break too on my 6025s. I am not really sure why they thought they had to snap together anyway? I know I see no reason to ever separate them. I think the redesign will be a permanent marriage between the two.

I used super glue, but I think Roger says hotmelt works good too.

I forgot to mention that if you dont want to glue, I'm sure Tunze will replace. They will stand behind their products 100%!

The problem with super glue is that it is possible for the "horseshoe" section to snap and then the base is glued in permanently. The redesign I proposed is to utilize the big round holes in the magnet and use plastic automotive trim rivets to secure the clip with new flanges on it to these holes. They are working on something similar but likely without the rivets but this redesign is still a couple months out. I suggest hot glue because it peels off easily later. PM me a name and address and I can send a couple clips.
