does anyone know if 6060s can be used with a wave timer . I am mainly worried about the pump burning out for some reason, or should I ditch them and get the tunze controller and pumps. Lets not be biased I would love the tunze system but my credit card is still smoking from my last purchase.

The 6060 will be destroyed by a wavemaker, this is in the manual. The frequent on and off grinds down the clutch and then the prop stops spinning and the pump overheats, if it overheats repeatedly it will shut itself off and never run again. It voids the warranty to use it this way. You could use it on a timer but the on intervals must be at least 1 hr with no more than 24 on/off cycles per day. This limits the wear by giving the clutch enough time to retract between engagement.
