Tunze 6100.10 few questions

1. I was playing with my tunze's connected to my APEX and accidentally did the start and stop on them. They made a really cool way on my 180 island tank. I heard that the 6100.10 were not made to do this so I hurry upped and changed the setting back to 30 on the low.

So I'm asking, is this really bad or urban legend. I don't want to break these.

2. I need to replace one of the impellers I think as it looks like the front break area (?) piece break and is hitting the impeller (not the one I had start stop going on).

3. Is there a wide flow mod I can do one these? I had one one each side, but it seems even at 5 feet they don't speed out enough, or should I have both on one side? My tank is 5 feet long 24inch deep and 30" tall the overflow box is on the right side and is 10" by 10" I think.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

This use would be fine as long as the pumps have the 6100.700 drive units we have used since 2006.

The wide flow housing for these is 6200.130, this was the housing used in the oldest waveboxes.

One has the black I believe 6100.700 drive and I will be replacing the other one with the 6100.700 as well. From your reply I assume that is what is needed to do stop start (pulse).

Thanks again for the information.
Happy reefing

Yes, that is all you need. The older ones with brake shoes could lock up and burn out the motor.

Is this wider than the factory ones I have? they look the same as what I have already on mine, Couldn't find the stock one on the list, so I wanted to make sure.

Thanks again.
