Tunze 6100 Dead

My tunze bought the farm today.
The hockey puck type thing(driver?) is VERY hot and I believe is the culprit. I can actually smell it, kind of a smoldering plastic smell. I need to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Also, I get a slight electrical tingle from the puck.

Any help appreciated.

Upon further review, I believe the overheated piece is called a transformer.

I have been fussing with it this morning and noticed smoke coming from one of the transformer wires. Obviously I have unplugged the pump.

The transformer is a symptom and not the culprit, what you describe happens when the driver is damaged and shorted out and overloads the transformer. The transformer shuts off when it reaches 100C and this is hot enough to deform the plastic. Send the pump in, we will need to test the motor and replace the other parts.

Thanks for the reply. Let me clarify a bit more.

The pump actually works, but is smoking from one of the wires that connects to the transformer.

The most likely cause of that would be water getting into the transformer. I have seen it happen where water follows the cord inside and this happens.
