Tunze 6100 not working despite new impeller

Hi
My older 6100 stopped working, and taking it apart it looked like the impeller was both gummed up and broken. So I ordered another one - but when I put it together today, it still doesn't work. When I plug it in the magnetic field obviously comes on, and it turns just a little bit and stops, and the alarm comes on.

I did clean it out well on the inside, and did take out all the old parts, including the inner rotor bearing and o - ring, and the bearing bushing.

Well out of warranty - any advice?

Here is the part description of the impeller replacement set (from J&L Aquatics) -

I would guess the motor block has died. You may be able to find a good used one or maybe some new old stock. The other option is kit 6100.015, this is a 6105 upgrade kit, it lacks a magnet holder and instead includes an adapter for your existing holder (rail or magnet). This set actually replaces every part you own (motor, driver, drive unit, transformer) it will work with your existing controller.

You would get the new pump and power supply in that set, but no magnet holder or controller, you would use your existing controller and whatever holder (rail or magnet) you are presently using.
