Tunze 6100 stays on

It is attached to what I believe is the 2nd generation driver (black box with a smaller three socket black box containing a small white dial). The controller is a 7095. I tried switching the drivers to a different channel and it still stays on. Any ideas on how to fix this? If I unplug the power supply when the pump should not be on, then plug the power back in, the pump will initially be off until the powerhead does the intermittent shake to keep small fish from settling in the pump. Instead of just shaking, the pump will turn back on.

It sounds like you have a 6101, these have no external driver, I believe you are referring to the transformer. I am not clear on what is happening, can you explain it more clearly? Does the pump run normally at continuous speed when a controller is not connected? Are you sure the potentiometer on the connection block is at 100% power, when using a controller this cannot be turned down, it is only to be used to adjust the pump speed when using the pump with no controller.

It was working fine for about a month, cycling with the channel and having both the high and low flow as set by the 7095. Now, it just stays on with continuous power and no variation in output. Th epotentiometer was completely turned clockwise.

Have you tried another controller cable? A common issue is an internal break in the cable from being pulled or pinched.

Roger, I tried another controller cable and it is now operating correctly! Thanks as this looks like it was the problem!
