Tunze 6100 wires bad?

Just recieved a Tunze 6100, purchased from RC member and mailed to me.
Back of the powerhead where the wire comes out seems to be frayed. It is only the outer layer that is ripped... it is exposing the small wires inside, which are fine and still have all their plastic covering.
Before I put in my tank and plug it in, I just want to make sure there is no problem with the wire being this way.

Yes, that is a problem, water will eventually seep in and damage the motor and or driver, it will actually wick all the way back to the driver over time. You need a new motor, and we are out of stock on the motors at present.
