tunze 6101

Yes, it could be August though before all the old ones are out of stock. Parts will still be available for the older design and beyond the lack of a driver and different power supply there is no functional difference.

Ran off a laptop battery???? Hope the batteries are not made by sony :D Have enough to worry about in our fish tanks to have to worry about something going up in flames.

Just curious any incentives to those who have just bought 6000's or 6100's recently sorta like what those "other guys" are doing over at Icecap :D

No incentive, that is why I am giving plenty of advance notice, if you wish to wait 6+ months you have a heads up. There is no functional difference, it is simply a new lighter simpler design but it works the same, uses the same controllers. It will run off a laptop charger but no battery will be offered. You should however be able to use an external laptop battery and we will likely offer an adapter to do the same for older pumps.

Will older tunzes be able to upgrade to go driverless or is it the adaptar is only for the use with an external laptop battery?

They cannot be made driverless as the driver still exists it just is now built into the pump. The adapter will just be for use with a laptop battery/ power supply.

Excuse my ignorant but I still don't get what driverless mean?

Where is the driver in the old one?

In the cord there is a blue or silver box, that is going away, it will now be inside the pump.
