Hi, just purchased 6105 Turbelle stream. They seem a little flimsy putting the cages together. The tabs with a little coralline on them could be trouble. honestly I have the 6105 opposite a 6100 that has been bullet proof , and side by side the 6100 is quieter...

Hope it works out I was going to buy two just wanted to try one and see....I like the smaller footprint but thats it so far...sorry !!

Thanks,
Moochie

The 6105 will run in and quiet down. My gets coralline covered every few weeks and I never have a problem.

I have own a few tunze stream 2 and they all will get quieter over time. It is hard to accept the new design esp when the older model have set a very high standard. As for the concern about the opening it should not become a problem if you properly maintain the pump with routine clean up twice a year.

We use a very resilient polyamide plastic, I have yet to see any issues with broken tabs on the Stream 2. The pumps should get quieter and FWIW, the 6100 wasn't the quietest when it first came out in 2002, it took a couple years of fine tuning the drive unit to get them really quiet and we keep working on the 6105 drive unit in the same way. It just takes a lot of tests and a lot of data and feedback to figure out every possible problem and every solution has its compromises like greater power consumption or shorter cleaning intervals so it takes a while to fine tune the details, but any solution we come up with in the future will always work in the older versions just as with the 6100.

I just got a new 6105 to join my existing 6100's. I am extremely disappointed in the unit so far. It makes an unacceptable amount of noise for a pump in this price range. So far, I have made sure the drive was seated properly and it was. I removed it from the magnetic holder and it still made the same level of noise. This unit will be going back to the retailer.

I am not sure if you are asking for help or just wanted to vent. Odds are we could solve the problem, but if you have already returned it there isn't much I can do. I could only give advise as I am not the distributor for your area, and while the 6105 is slightly louder than the 6100, if it is much louder there has to be resolvable technical solution.

More rant than anything, but I will gratefully accept any suggestions to make it tolerable. I have dropped a few dollars on new fans for the controller in an effort to silence the tank and now the noise level is back up again with the new Stream. My wife is threatening dismantle so my nerves are a little frayed. I will start a new thread so that others will be able to use the information later if they suffer the same problem with the 6105's.
