Hi, I have two of these pumps, both the older and the newer style. The older one is giving me a bit of a problem. I'm using them on a wave maker. Sometimes it stops and then will resume. I have taken it apart and cleaned it. Is the impeller supposed to rotate freely on the shaft ? Right now it is fairly tight on the shaft, if I wanted to I could get it off, should I do that and clean it ? Or is the shaft supposed to rotate with the impeller ?

The magnet and propeller should spin on the metal shaft, they should not be fused to the metal shaft.
