Can you help me.. I have a 6215 Wavebox and the pump skips intervals.. Seems like the pump is glitching.. I tried cleaning the impeller with vinegar and still no go.. Also I have the controller on the highest setting and waves are barley noticeable.. I have a 110 Tall aquarium and running 18v

How old is the wavebox?

24V will give the biggest wave and the tuning of the controller is tank specific, i.e. if you have a 4ft long tank, the biggest wave will generally be at .40-.50 seconds, turning it all the way up is actually worse, this timing must be very precise to coincide with the resonance frequency of the tank.

It's about 1 year 1/2.. Its not too old.. Thanks I will try to tune it..

I am having the same problem - pump skips intervals - the controller light shows that the impeller should be turning, but the impeller does not turn with every signal sent from the controller. The pump has been cleaned multiple times; I am stumped.

I was very happy with the wavebox when it worked, but the wave action is suffering since the pump began skipping intervals.

The wavebox is less than 2 years old.

The key point to inspect will be the shaft, if it has any calcium build up that could cause intermittent binding of the propeller/magnet on the shaft, that will cause this. If we can rule that out, it has to be the motor and it will need to be sent in.

I pulled the pump, and I found that the impeller was, in fact, binding to the shaft. I disassembled the pump and gave it a vinegar bath. This time, I not only cleaned the shaft, but I also cleaned the inside of the impeller with a toothpick. Everything seems to be running smoothly now (except that the darn protective grate does not like to stay on the pump). I may use a drop or 2 of glue on the grate since I can still disassemble the wavebox with the grate in place. Thanks for the help, Roger!

I would see if you can just bend the little tabs back so it locks in correctly, if I was to use any glue it would be silicon or hot glue, something easily removed.
