Couple questions about my tunze 9002 skimmer.

I just cycled my tank and threw on my tunze skimmer.. it seemed to work good right away no noise, no micro bubbles.

I had to lower the water level because I had it too high for my media basket. Now the skimmer is as low as I can get it and its making more noise and my tank is full of micro bubbles. Water line is still less than an inch lower than the wave mark on the skimmer body.

Should i remove the skimmer and take it apart see if there are any problems or could the microbubbles just be a break in thing?

One other thing, I seen some videos on the tunze 9002 pump and the cord seems a lot thinner than the cord on mine. I find it very hard to fit the pump and cord into the casing due to the larger cord. Should i look into a new pump?

I found out what was wrong, sorry for the newb post.

Still curious on the size of the wire on my pump though.

We have used two cords. The thick one is older, it was a safety consideration, we felt it safer to have the very thick insulation. We switched to the thinner one for the reason you describe and because in practice the thick cord is not really that much safer. It is not so easily cut, but it can more easily be pulled and broken, either has pros and cons.
