Tunze 9002 problem

Hi, i installed a 9002 today in my Finnex 30g, and since turning it on, it is very noisy and i'm getting absolutely nothing in the collection cup. Is it normal for it to be like this when you first install it? This is my first skimmer so I'm not sure exactly what I should be expecting.

You need to raise the skimmer so the marked water line is about 1/2" above the water. Water is now inside the air system and it will take a few days to work itself out. It should be virtually silent when properly installed.
