Tunze 9002 Skimmate

Ive had my 9002 running for a little over 4-5 weeks in a heavily stocked nano, where most skimmers show sludge and gunk, my tunze produces brown tea like skimmate, wet, and watery...

is this normal or should it be thicker?

This is normal, compact skimmers generally cannot produce the thicker skimmate achieved by longer contact times (height). This is not a disadvantage though, while you do lose some saltwater, you also will generally remove more waste as a cup caked with thick sludge will not skim as efficiently and few people will do the daily cleaning required to keep the efficiency up. You can close the air screw a bit to darken it up, but there is nothing wrong with how it is running now.
