Tunze 9006 on a nano

Would a tunze 9006 be too much overkill for a 30 gallon SPS nano? I have three small fish but I'm looking at getting a fourth fish. System has a fuge, GFO reactor, and reactor with biopellets. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
Keith

I think the 9002 would be the way to go. I would rather get a 9011 than a 9006, so for me, based on my experience, go 9002 or 9011. The 9006 is made for one specific niche, a tank with a canopy where an intank skimmer with a short cup is required.

Well I currently have the 9002 and was thinking about getting another fish and I don't know if the 9002 can handle 4 fish on a SPS 30 gallon. I have a sump on my nano so the 9006 would sit perfectly in the sump. Then I could get another fish and not worry about if I'm pushing the 9002 too far. (Plus the description on the 9002 says its recommended for SPS tanks up to 26 gallons with a light bioload) So I'm already 4 gallons over the recommendation and thats with a light bioload. (3 fish currently)

If you are going to spend the money and take up the tank space, go for the 9011, it is marginally more and it is that much better.

Well I was only thinking about upgrading to the 9006 because I found an older generation 9006 used for $125. Is that a good enough price? I just don't want to pass up a good deal. lol The skimmer will be going in my 10 gallon sump so tank space isn't an issue.

I'm wrestling with the same decision, but have limited overhead space.

So how much additional height is required to remove the 9011's cup?
